Mary Grace del Rosario was
born in the Philippines. She started violin lessons at age 10
and shortly after she was featured as a soloist playing Mendelssohns

one of the Philippines finest violin instructors, she flourished
and won national competitions and participated in international
youth orchestras. In 1993, she was concertmaster of the ASEAN
(Association of South East Asian Nations) Youth Orchestra, then
performed with the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra. In 2001,

a post she held until she moved to Canada in 2008.
After graduating with her
Bachelor of Music in the Philippines in 1998, Mary Grace started
teaching violin at St. Scholasticas College of Music, house
of the finest strings program in the Philippines. During that
time she also became the schools Junior Orchestra Instructor
and Conductor.
In 2007, Mary Grace married
a fellow Filipino violinist who was based in Coquitlam, BC. Upon
arriving in Coquitlam, she took some time adjusting to her new
home and playing various musical engagements around town as part
of a string group called Rosario Strings. She and her husband
joined the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008 where Conductor
Jack Zhang was also Musical Director. In 2009, Mary Grace won
the position of Concertmaster with the New Westminster Symphony
